# 🔗 Importing a Project from Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC)

> Connect your Oracle Primavera Cloud environment to Nodes & Links and import your projects directly — no file exports needed!
>
> If you are reading this, it means your workspace is ready to integrate with Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC). This article will guide you through everything you need: setting up the OPC integration credentials as an Admin, and then importing a project directly from OPC into Nodes & Links.
>
> Before getting started, here are a few key terms used in this article:
>
> OPC: Oracle Primavera Cloud — a cloud-based project management and scheduling solution by Oracle, also known as Oracle Construction and Engineering.
>
> OPC Rest API Integration: The connection configured at the workspace level that allows Nodes & Links to communicate securely with your OPC environment.
>
> OAuth Authentication: A secure login flow that verifies your identity with Oracle before allowing Nodes & Links to access your OPC project data.
>
> OPC Baseline: A frozen point-in-time snapshot of a project schedule stored in Oracle Primavera Cloud, used as a reference for measuring progress or schedule deviation.
>
> OPC Scenario: A what-if schedule version created in Oracle Primavera Cloud to model alternative plans or risk responses, without affecting the live schedule.
>
> NL Baseline: The version inside a Nodes & Links project that is designated as the reference baseline for platform calculations, and comparisons. It can be the live schedule, an OPC baseline, or an OPC scenario.

## **⚠️ Prerequisites — OPC Administrator Setup (One-time)**

Before the integration can be configured, someone with admin access to your Oracle Primavera Cloud environment must create a dedicated OAuth client for Nodes & Links. Without this, clicking **Authenticate** will fail with an `invalid_redirect_uri` error.

1. From the **Navigation** menu of the Construction and Engineering Lobby, select **OAuth Clients**

1. Click **Add**
2. Enter a **Name** (e.g. `N&L integration`)
3. Enter a **Description**
4. Select **Primavera Cloud** as the **Resource Application**
5. Select **Installed Application** as the **Type**
6. Paste the following in the **Redirect URL** field: `https://app.nodeslinks.com/opc-restapi/auth-callback`
7. Click **Add**

After creating the OAuth Client, your  must ensure that the users who will import projects into Nodes & Links have permission to use this integration:

1. Open Oracle Primavera Cloud and go to Global Admin → Privacy & Security.
2. In your privacy/security settings, configure access for the API and Gateway either:
    1. By allowing all users in your tenant to have access, or
    2. By explicitly granting access only to the specific users or groups who will connect OPC to Nodes & Links.

3\. Confirm that these users can log in to OPC and have access to the projects they are expected to import.

## **Step 1: Configure the OPC Integration (Admin only)**

Before anyone on the team can import projects from OPC, an Admin must set up the integration credentials at the workspace level. This is a one-time setup. Go to the Admin Tool by clicking the settings icon in the top right corner of the platform, then navigate to Integrations → OPC Rest API in the left sidebar.

You will see the Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) Rest API page. Click the Add Credentials button in the top right corner.

A form will appear asking for two pieces of information:

**Client ID**: The OAuth client identifier provided by your Oracle administrator (e.g. SCP\_Company\_OAuth\_Client\_OPC\_client\_APPID).

**Host URL**: The base URL of your OPC environment (e.g. https://primavera-uk1.oraclecloud.com).

Fill in both fields and click Save.

**⚠️ Note**: Each workspace supports only one OPC Rest API integration. If you already have one configured, the Add Credentials button will show a “Limit Reached” message and you will need to edit or replace the existing entry instead. Once saved, the credential entry will appear in the list showing the Name, Client ID, Host URL, Status (Active/Suspended), Last Used date, and Last Used By role.

### **Managing existing credentials**

At any time, an Admin can manage the OPC credential by clicking the three-dot menu (⋮) on the right side of the credential row. Three options are available:

- **Edit** — Update the Client ID or Host URL.
- **Delete** — Permanently remove the integration.
- **Suspend** — Temporarily disable the integration without deleting it.

## **Step 2: Import a Project from OPC**

Once the integration is configured, any user with the appropriate permissions can import a project from OPC directly from the Projects home screen. From the Projects home page, click the Import from OPC button.

Nodes & Links will immediately check whether an active connection to the OPC API exists. You will see a brief loading message: "Checking connection to Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) API..."

##
**Step 3: Authenticate with Oracle Primavera Cloud**

If you do not already have an active OPC session, a dialog will appear:

1. "Authentication Required" — "You do not have an active session with the Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) API. Please authenticate to continue."
2. Click Authenticate. You will be redirected to the Oracle Construction and Engineering sign-in page.
3. Enter your Oracle username (email address) and click Next, then enter your password to complete the sign-in. Once authenticated, you will be automatically redirected back to Nodes & Links.

***💡 Tip:** If you click Cancel instead, the process will be stopped and no project will be imported.*

## **Step 4: Select your Workspace and Import your OPC Project(s)**

After successful authentication, Nodes & Links opens the Import Projects from Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) dialog. The import follows a simple 5-step wizard: Select Workspace → Select Project(s) → Fetch Data → Confirmation → Finish.

Once an OPC workspace is selected, the Projects dropdown will become active. It displays a list of all available OPC projects within that workspace, each with a checkbox next to it.

Use the search box within the Projects dropdown to quickly filter by name. You can select multiple projects at the same time by ticking more than one checkbox — they will all be imported in a single operation.

Once you have made your selection, click Next To proceed to the Baselines step.

#### **Step 4b: Select Baselines**

After you click Next on the project selection step, Nodes & Links automatically checks the selected project(s) for any baselines stored in Oracle Primavera Cloud. A new Baselines dialog appears.

Each baseline entry in the dropdown shows:

• Baseline name

• Data date

• Category

• A type tag on the right: Baseline

Selecting baselines is optional. You can skip this step by clicking Next without choosing any. Each selected baseline is imported as a separate version in your Nodes & Links project.

#### **Step 4c: Select Scenarios**

After completing the Baselines step, the wizard moves to the Scenarios dialog. Nodes & Links checks the same selected project(s) for any scenarios stored in Oracle Primavera Cloud.

Each scenario entry in the dropdown shows:

• Scenario name

• Planned start date

• A type tag on the right: Scenario

Selecting scenarios is optional. You can skip this step by clicking Next without choosing any. Each selected scenario is imported as a separate version in your Nodes & Links project.

#### **Step 4d: Set the NL Baseline**

The final step before the data fetch is setting your NL Baseline — the version that Nodes & Links will use as the reference point for calculations, comparisons, and AI analysis inside the project.

![](https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/2619f17e-82b3-4d0e-aa2d-0b7cab946deb)

The dropdown is pre-set to Live schedule (latest OPC) by default and is populated with:

• Live schedule — labelled "Latest OPC export", type tag: Live

• Any baselines selected in Step 4b — type tag: Baseline

• Any scenarios selected in Step 4c — type tag: Scenario

Select the version you want to use as the NL Baseline and click Next. This choice can be changed at any time from the version selector inside the project.

## **Step 5: Bring in OPC updates as a new version**

After your project has been imported, Nodes & Links will keep an eye on the linked Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC) project for changes. When a live update is detected, the live updates button changes to indicate that updates are available.

![](https://cdn-assets.productfruits.com/37fc529c-dd67-47c0-a0db-5bf7de88c447)

Click to get latest data from Oracle Primavera Cloud (OPC).” Click this button to pull the latest data from OPC and create a new version of your project in Nodes & Links, so you always keep a full version history while working with the most up‑to‑date schedule.

## **Step 6:** **Managing Baselines and Scenarios after import**

If you did not select all the baselines or scenarios you need during the import, or if new ones have been created in OPC since, you can add them to an existing project directly from inside the project. Click the Scenario & Baselines button in the project navigation bar to open the selection dialog and import additional baselines or scenarios without having to re-import the full project.

## **You are ready to go!**

Once imported, your OPC project works just like any project created through a file upload. You can upload updates through OPC, assign team members, and take full advantage of all Nodes & Links features.

Don't hesitate to get in touch if you have any further queries!
