# Change Control: History

## 📊 Change History

💡 Change History gives you a consolidated view of how your schedule has evolved across all uploaded versions — in a single screen. See the volume of changes per update, spot which activities were affected, and understand your project slip trend at a glance.

### 🔍 What you'll learn:

1. Read the chart to understand the volume and type of changes across schedule versions
2. Select a change type to reveal the activity-level detail table
3. Interpret the values in the table (numeric deltas, Modified, Activity removed)
4. Navigate horizontally when you have many schedule versions
5. Switch between a full schedule view and a critical path scope

### Accessing Change History

Change History is accessible from the left sidebar under Insights → Change History. It sits above Change Control and is available for any project with more than one uploaded schedule version.

### The Chart: Change Volume at a Glance

When you first land on Change History, the chart fills the entire screen.

The chart is a stacked bar chart with an overlapping line, using two Y-axes:

- Left Y-axis — Number of activities that had changes in each schedule version
- Right Y-axis — Project slip (in days) recorded in each schedule version

Each bar is colour-coded by change type (Removals, Additions, Relationships, Total Float, Calendar, Duration, Constraints, End Date). The dashed line shows the Project Slip trend — rising means the end date is slipping, falling means it is recovering.

Hovering over any bar shows a tooltip with the total activities changed, the breakdown by type, and the project slip for that version.

### Selecting a Change Type

Use the "Select a Change" dropdown at the top left to focus on a specific type of change (e.g. Total Float, Calendar, Relationships, Duration, Constraints, Removals, Additions, End Date).

Once selected, two things happen:

- The chart moves upward and resizes to make room below
- A data table appears beneath it, showing activity-level detail for that change type

### The Table: Activity-Level Change Detail

Each column is a schedule version. Each row is an activity. Reading the table is straightforward:

- A numeric value (e.g. `+23d`, `-76d`) means the attribute changed — that is the delta from the previous version
- Modified means the attribute changed in a way that is not numeric (e.g. a calendar was reassigned, a relationship was added or a constraint was modified)
- A dash (–) means there was no change in that version, or the attribute is not applicable
- Activity removed means the activity was deleted from that schedule version

The Total Delta column on the right summarises the net change for each activity across the entire project lifecycle.

### Navigating Many Schedule Versions

When a project has more versions than the screen can display, a horizontal scrollbar appears at the bottom. The chart bars and table columns scroll together, always staying vertically aligned. The activity names on the left and the Total Delta column on the right remain fixed as you scroll.

### Loading more schedule versions

Change History shows up to 10 schedule versions in the chart and table when you first open the page. If the project has fewer than 10 versions in total, all of them appear immediately.

To see versions that are not shown yet, use the control to the left of the chart (between the left axis and the graph). Each time you use it, up to 10 more schedule versions are added. The last use may add fewer than 10 if only that many are left to load.

When every schedule version for the project is visible, the control is disabled. Hovering it indicates that all schedule versions are now shown.

If there are more columns than fit on screen, use the horizontal scrollbar; the chart and table columns stay aligned.

### Switching Scope: Full Schedule vs Critical Path

Use the Schedule dropdown at the top right to switch between the full schedule and the critical path. This lets you focus your change analysis on what matters most for your project end date.
